Hold onto your Labor Day hats and get to Schaumburg for the 43rd Annual Septemberfest 2013! And before you head out, remember your fave hotel near Septemberfest is Hampton Inn Carol Stream – just 13 miles from Schaumburg Municipal Center’s Septemberfest.

This year, the 43rd Annual Septemberfest 2013 will be Saturday, Sunday and Labor Day Monday, August 31-September 2. Hours are 10am to 10pm Saturday, 9am to 10pm Sunday and 9am to 9pm Monday. No matter what days and hours you plan your visit, Septemberfest 2013 admission is always free!

What can you expect? You can expect to find way more than most events pack into a three-day weekend, and that’s for real. For starters, the entertainment is over the top: each day not one, not two – but three performers are booked on the Miller Lite Music Stage. Event organizers book performers to make everyone happy, so you’ll hear pop, country, rock, big band, classics and even more.

Every day the Carnival provides fun-fun-fun rides for kids and adults. Saturday’s special: all kids with disabilities ride free, and that includes two hours before rides open to the public at 12. (Be sure to register in advance by calling 847-884-0030.) Sunday and Monday you can purchase a wristband for $20 and ride all day long – around and around and around and….

Don’t miss the free pony rides from noon to 5 on Saturday. Bring girls 5-8 to get glammed up with the My Party Princesseach day of Septemberfest.

Speaking of kids, the Schaumburg Police Department Crime Prevention will be set up and offering child ID fingerprinting, Neighborhood Watch and personal safety information. Schaumburg Fire Safety will be there too, every day from 11am to 5pm – ask them what you can do for the best home fire prevention.

And for the not-so-much-kids-anymore, check out the Bingo Tent, open to everyone 18 and older from noon to 9pmeach day. Feeling lucky? Love to have fun? Then the Bingo Tent is a must for you.

Saturday and Sunday get in on the Taste of Schaumburg from 10am to 10pm. Local restaurants offer up delish tastes from their menus – you’ll be amazed what amazing chefs work right here in Schaumburg, IL.

Monday, Labor Day, you’ll want to catch the Septemberfest Parade, running on Summit Drive between Wise Road and Stock Port Lane. The Candy Kick-off begins with the Mayor Larson and the Village Board at 9:30, then the Parade starts rolling at 10. The Schaumburg Park District will be the Parade Marshall – and btw, they’re celebrating their 50th anniversary this year.

Oh, there’s so much more: an arts and crafts show, strolling entertainers, all kinds of local talent, martial arts demos, belly dancing and fireworks. We told you there’s way more than you can imagine packed into three exciting days!

One more thing: go to ci.schaumburg.il.us and get info on parking and shuttles – you can park offsite, ride a shuttle and enjoy the day knowing your return ride will be waiting. How easy is that?
